Project Description: This project included the decommissioning of eight units and an exiter located at the Rocky Creek Hydro Facility in Great Falls, SC. The project included construction of a trestle, dredging and spoil removal, trash rack removal, pier nose rehabilitation, installation of a 250' cofferdam using 50' sheet piles with three horizontal walers spanning the entire length of a cofferdam, tremie concrete pour, dewatering of the cofferdam, scaffold installation, timber headgate removal, steel headgate modifications for access, confined space activities in conjunction with high angle rescue, cleaning of penstocks using vacuum trucks and other means of foreign material removal, 25' steel panel form work installation, and pouring of approximately 7,000 cubic yards of concrete from a pump truck across the headworks and into the cofferdam.
