Barge Loading Facility & Wharf Upgrades

Project Description: For the upgrades to this barge loading facility and wharf, 280' LF of steel waler was replaced with existing tie rods refurbished via splicing of new end sections on to existing. 300' of existing timber bulkhead was demolished and 300' of concrete dead man was installed atop of 90 each 20" square concrete tension and compression piles. 300' of 62' long AZ-26 A690 sheet piles coated both sides with CTE top 30'. 300' of steel wale was installed and tied back to dead man with petrolatum-wrapped tie rods. 300' of bent-plate caps installed atop sheet pile wall. 580' of two-tier timber fender system was installed. 3,000 CY of existing material removed and 6,000 CY of new select fill as well as 4,200 tons of 21A was placed and compacted. 50,000 SF of macro-fiber reinforced concrete was placed directly under the prime contract and another approximately 50,000 SF of concrete placed in associated project. One existing ship bollard, atop of HP14x73 foundation piles, was extended to account for newly established grade. Eight-each 16" pipe pile bollards with steel-reinforced concrete foundations were installed.
