Norfolk Harborfest 2024
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see CROFTON at the 48th Annual Norfolk Harborfest! Attendees visited the Cromo – a commercial diving vessel that’s been serving this harbor since 1951, learned about other fascinating tools used in the commercial diving industry, and cheered for The HUNTSMAN as it competed for bragging rights in the biggest Tug Muster in the mid Atlantic region.
We treasured your company as we celebrated another awesome year on the waterfront.

CROFTON Celebrates National Maritime Day with The Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk
CROFTON proudly sponsored The Propeller Club, Port of Norfolk’s National Maritime Day Celebration aboard the USS Wisconsin last week. Our very own Camille Crofton Cherry presided over the event as this year’s Propeller Club President. The evening featured a moving wreath laying ceremony (conducted from the deck of CROFTON’s Cromo), awards and recognitions for outstanding contributions, and inspiring remarks from key members of the maritime community.
This annual event holds a special place in our hearts as it underscores the dedication and hard work of everyone in our industry. It’s a reminder of the vital role we all play in maintaining and advancing maritime safety and excellence.

CROFTON’s Mary Breaks Through Headwall – Completing First Tunnel of HRBT Expansion
Mary the TBM excavated nearly 7,900 feet of soil and broke through the headwall on the North Island yesterday, completing the first tunnel of the HRBT Expansion Project.
This is Virginia’s first bored roadway tunnel and only the third in the U.S. What a momentous day for the project and for the region!
CROFTON has provided bare charter heavy lift support on this project since July of 2021 with our 300-ton 4100W Series 3 Ringer, also known as Big C. Whether it’s above or below the waterline, the CROFTON team strives to provide practical solutions that support our nation’s infrastructure.
